Latest Power of 5 Radar Network shows more snow showers continuing to move through Southcentral Indiana. The areas that see snow showers could see another quick inch of snow on top of whats already accumulated. Currently, roads are really beginning to improve around the area.
Temperatures are beginning to warm nicely this afternoon. Most areas are now approaching or above freezing. Look at Madisonville, Kentucky.. Already 40 degrees!
As we continue through tonight, another clipper system will move into the area. I think the best chance of any snowfall will actually fall to the south into portions of Western Indiana and Kentucky. FutureTrak is pointing out the one inch accumulations in those areas.
I want to point out there is still some uncertainty on this track even this close to the event, thus the NWS continues the Winter Weather Advisory for our area. This may shift further north, it will be a NOWCASTING event later this afternoon.
Another system I'm watching closely is Monday night into Tuesday. This does have the potential of bringing more snowfall into the area. Warmer air will be moving in with this system, this will cause a possible mix in portions of the area. Below is the NAM showing the potential of a good show of precipitation Monday night into Tuesday.
I think Louisville and points south would be the areas to watch for a mix/rain event while areas northeast of Louisville would see mainly snow/sleet. The team will watch it carefully over the coming days but right now nothing to major, just another chance of a few inches of snow.
