After 6Z data rolled in the SPC expanded the moderate risk to include the western sections of the WeatherPulse coverage area. THIS IS NOT GOOD. Also, models have increased the CAPE or instability for later tonight and we think the data is still under doing things.
Below is the NAM cape values now near 750 units for the area. I think the NAM is still underdoing things and Brandon pointed out in our conversation this morning. Untis of 1,000+ could be possible which will bring the threat of severe weather up a notch.
The image below shows the spin in the atomosphere and the values have went up on this as well. The line moving through will have the potential of a few rain wrapped tornadoes! We need to watch this very carefully!
We'll continue to have updates through the afternoon. NWS in Louisville plans to have a conference call with local media outlets at 2:00-2:30pm. We'll let you know the latest then!
